If you’ve been looking for the perfect Fall addition to your breakfasts or snack bowls, then look no further and let me introduce you to this deee-licious Apple Cinnamon Granola. It is super easy to make and a great healthy staple to keep at home in your kitchen. Keep on reading for the recipe of this Apple Cinnamon Granola.

A few weeks ago, I decided to make a new batch of my Homemade Chocolate Granola. But since I had some apples on hand leftovers from making this Buckwheat Apple Cake, I figured I would create a new granola recipe for you all that incorporates all of the beauty of the Fall season.

That’s when this Apple Cinnamon Granola was born. I would strongly encourage you to make your own granola for these simple reasons:

  1. It’s a lot cheaper
  2. You know exactly what ingredients are in it
  3. You get to control which sweetener you use and how much of it you add to your granola
  4. It’s fun & it’ll have your whole house smell like cinnamon heaven 😉

I hope I did convince you to give it a go. As I am typing this, I am already due for a new batch and I cannot wait to make something new!

Here is the recipe for this delicious, healthy & easy:

Apple Cinnamon Granola

Apple Cinnamon Granola

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3-4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped raw walnuts
  • 2-3 Tbsp of flax seeds
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin organic coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (or pure maple syrup or apple purée if sugar-detoxing)
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of  sea salt
  • 1 medium apple cored, chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins

HOW TO:

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F or 160/180° C (it depends on your oven size)
  2. Line your baking pan with parchment paper and set it aside.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare your dry ingredients by assembling your oats, nuts, flax seeds, cinnamon and salt into a big mixing bowl. Set it aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix your coconut oil, vanilla & sweetener of choice (coconut sugar, maple syrup or apple purée*). This is the “wet” mixture.
  5. Add the wet mixture, apple, and raisins to the big mixing bowl with the dry ingredients; mix everything until oats are evenly coated.
  6. Place on prepared baking pan; spread evenly in a thin layer.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, or until granola is light golden brown and crisp. *Please keep in mind that if you are using apple purée, your granola will be a little more “wet” and require a bit more time to get crispy. Simply set your oven 10 degrees colder and keep an eye on the granola.
  8. Once ready, let your granola cool down completely (the cooler it gets, the crispier it will get). Store your Apple Cinnamon Granola in an airtight jar and enjoy it in your breakfast bowl, with yogurt or on its own ;).Apple Cinnamon Granola
