If you’re looking for a quick, filling and delicious breakfast on the go. This Cinnamon Tahini Green Smoothie is going to be perfect for you! It tastes amazing and I simply love to enjoy this creamy delight for breakfast, as an excellent post-workout fuel or even midday snack!
It is so creamy smooth and absolutely delicious. Plus, the cinnamon adds a delicious spicy kick to the overall smooth and sweet texture of this green smoothie. And bonus: it contains great and clean ingredients that will fully nourish your body and keep you fuel for a few hours ;).
Take tahini, for example. Did you know that tahini is simply sesame paste?
And if you’re thinking: “Oh well, sesame seeds are boring”, then think again! Because sesame seeds are packed full of healthy nutrients, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, protein, healthy fat and fibers! They are an excellent addition to your diet to prevent heart disease, cancer, balance out your hormones and burn more fat!
Now you’re interested, right? :p
Well, let’s look at the recipe shall we?
You will only need a few ingredients to make this delicious and decadent tahini green smoothie.
Cinnamon Tahini Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of baby spinach (or other dark leafy greens of your choice)
- 1/4 of fresh lemon juice (helps with absorption of non-heme iron + hello vitamin C)
- 1 cup of almond milk (or coconut milk)
- 1 banana (frozen or not)
- 1/2 avocado
- 1.5 Tbsp of tahini (sesame paste- sesame seeds are a great source of minerals, Vitamin B1 & fibers!)
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- Optional: 1 heaping tsp of raw honey or 1 pre-soaked date (remove the pit & let it soak in water for at least 2 hours to soften up)
How to:
Place all the ingredients into your blender. Blend away and voilà! Enjoy this smoothie with a few toppings too (I always gravitate towards coconut flakes, walnuts & sugar-free dark chocolate). But feel free to add whatever you like and remember to rotate your nuts & seeds for optimal health.
