Looking for a healthy snack to tie you over until dinner time?
Look no more! Try this Creamy Almond Butter Smoothie 🙂
Before I give you the recipe, let me tell you a little more about the star of today’s smoothie- the avocado.
I used to dislike avocados with a passion because I had no idea how to eat them and I did not like guacamole (and still don’t ;p) and that was the only way I had tried them.
Then, one day I had avocado in a smoothie in Montreal and it was LOVE at first taste. It made the smoothie sooo creamy and delicious. That’s when my love for this amazing fruit started :p. Today, I enjoy avocados in salads, frozen desserts, smoothies, soups and many more…
And here is why I am so happy I learned to love them:
Health benefits of avocados:
– rich in monounsaturated fats (great for your heart health)
– a great source of potassium (which regulates blood pressure)
– also a great source of B vitamins, folate and B6 (both essential for your heart as well as for your energy production)
– good source of copper and vitamin C (two powerful antioxidants that help you fight off free radical damages, which help you stay in good health and age gracefully)
– a great source of healthy dietary fibers (to help you eliminate toxins and promote a healthy digestive tract)
– and finally, a good source of vitamin K (which is important for proper blood and bone function).
Now that you know what avocados are good for, here is one way to consume them 🙂
