Hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Mine was spent doing a lot of introspection…Needless to say: it was pretty exhausting but much needed.
In order to re-energize, on this Monday morning, I made myself a delicious green smoothie. Since I started the plank and green challenge for the month of October, I have been having fun experimenting with new green smoothie recipes. Lately, the simpler I make them, the better they taste. Bonus: This one contains 3 ingredients that replenish your electrolytes naturally. Join me as I show you how to create this Super Hydrating Green Smoothie!
This super easy smoothie recipe is absolutely delicious, tastes sweet AND it is super nutritious for you. Why not give it a try?
Here it is:
Super Hydrating Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of water
- 1 cup of coconut water (hello natural electrolytes!)
- 2 or 3 leaves of kale – remove the stems (or 1 cup of tightly packed spinach)
- ¼ lemon juice (fresh or 1-2 tsp of apple cider vinegar)
- 1 Tbsp of chia seeds (for its protein and omega-3s content)
- 1 apple (cored and chopped)
- 1 frozen banana (Here is the trick: frozen bananas will make your smoothie taste sweeter naturally!)
Optional: 1 Tbsp of coconut flakes
How to:
Put all of ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend away for 2-5 minutes. That’s all! Enjoy your deliciously smooth and sweet green smoothie.
